July 1, 2020

WASHINGTON (June 27, 2020) - Private Chef Week kicks-off National Culinary Arts Month with more than 20 private chefs and food enthusiasts at 5 pm on June 30 through Zoom.

Convos with Culinary Artists is a three-hour online event that features six different breakout sessions. Following the keynote, attendees can choose to attend five additional live conversations that will focus on four broad topics: funding, diversity, publicity, and technology. Local restaurant owners, celebrity chefs, and food enthusiasts will engage in short dialogues around important issues such as the future of the restaurant industry, access to food, social responsibility, and closing the health disparity gap. Each speaker will reveal how their local community is coping in the midst of today’s unprecedented times.

“The way we eat, access, and experience food has changed dramatically. This summit is a response to our new reality and an opportunity for the culinary arts community to shed light on their challenges and a way forward,” said LaWanda White Founder of Private Chef Week.

Private Chef Week launched in September 2019 and featured seven days of curated food experiences highlighting the private chef community in partnership with DC local restaurants such as The Carolina Kitchen and Coffy Cafe.

Convos with Culinary Artists speaker series features celebrity chefs such as Rock Harper (Hell’s Kitchen), Dr. Erinn Tucker (DMV Black Restaurant Week), Nycci Nellis (Foodie and The Best), Jill Collins (Jill Collins PR Group), Lauren Von Der Pool (Chopped), Karem “Mr. Bake” Queeman (Bake It Like Buddy), JR Robinson (Hell’s Kitchen), and Kristi Whitfield (Department of Small and Local Business Development) among many others.
