Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, REI and Comcast sponsor this year’s live performances featuring Nakkia Gold, Jasmine Crowe and M’Jestie

November 11, 2021

WASHINGTON (November 11, 2021) – Minority Veterans of America Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Summit two-day celebration features renown and sought after artists on November 14.

The MVA’s 2nd annual social justice celebration will feature live performances from Nakkia Gold whose single “Justice” has more than 3.8M views on YouTube, and Billboard-charting artist Jasmine Crowe along with multi-platinum songwriter, M’Jestie. Other cameos include child actor Bakari Blocton and R & B group’s 112’s Q Parker. The artist showcase is hosted by award-winning slam poet and iHeart radio personality, Simply Tee Poetry.

“The MVA has a seat at the table in providing solutions that impact the intersectionality of all minorities and that’s why I’ve chosen to volunteer and become a leader within this organization,” says Simply Tee.

The 2021 Summit theme is “leading the way, sharing the vision,” which will reinforce MVA’s continued efforts to be the voice for those who have served with honor and dignity, yet face systemic barriers and are often left out of dialogue regarding and the narrative of the American veteran.

Since its inception last year, MVA has established itself as a leader in amplifying the voices for marginalized and underrepresented veterans. This two-day celebration will include more than 60 speakers, a resource fair, and workshops.  Summit sessions will include discussions on minority veterans and public policy, Military Sexual Trauma, housing, homelessness, and racial equity, mental health, substance use and abuse, and many more.

The Summit is a virtual experience where attendees will have access to valuable resources, educational tools and career opportunities from employers such as Amazon, Johnson & Johnson, REI, Comcast, and more. In addition, every registrant will receive a virtual swag bag and will have a chance to win a $1,000 gear pack from REI, an Apple Watch and a $100 UberEats gift card.
