FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 5, 2023) – Samurai Hibachi Sushi & Bar (SHSB) pairs their original YumYum sauce with three new summer selections in celebration of International Sushi Day beginning June 18.

Arcell Mitchell II acquired the two hibachi and sushi bars after completing eight years of military service including two years in Iraq between 2008-2010. This spring, he temporarily closed one of the locations due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, but is still optimistic about the future.

“Eating and creating enjoyable sushi experiences is my new way of serving the community. Many of our customers are veterans and this is just one way we can support our neighbors, colleagues and friends,” says Mitchell.

This year, SHSB will donate a portion of its proceeds this month to the U.S Vets mental health programs. In 2022, these programs received less than 10% of the organization’s funding. As part of the restaurant’s campaign, Mitchell hopes to help bring awareness to post traumatic stress disorder which is also commemorated in June.
